Dhaka Capitals Edge Out Sylhet Strikers by 6 Runs in Thrilling BPL Encounter
In a thrilling encounter between two teams at the bottom of the BPL points table, it was Dhaka Capitals who emerged victorious, defeating Sylhet Strikers by 6 runs in a dramatic final over finish.
On the back of a brilliant 70-run innings from Liton Das, Dhaka put up a challenging total of 196 runs. Along with Liton, Tanjid Hasan Tamim and Sabbir Rahman also made valuable contributions. In the final overs, captain Thisara Perera played a crucial cameo, ensuring Dhaka Capitals posted a competitive total.
Chasing the target, Sylhet Strikers had a shaky start but were given hope by a solid fifty from Ronny Talukdar. Despite further resistance from Aaron Jones, Zakir Ali Anik, and captain Ariful Haque, Sylhet fell short in the final moments and couldn't chase down the target.
With their third consecutive defeat, Sylhet Strikers remain at the bottom of the points table, while Thisara Perera’s Dhaka Capitals secured a much-needed win to lift their spirits and improve their position in the standings.
