Ian Bell Joins Sri Lanka as Batting Coach for England Tour
Former England cricketer Ian Bell will join the Sri Lanka national team as the batting coach for their tour of England. Sri Lanka will start their Test series against England this month, with three Test matches scheduled during the tour. Bell's extensive experience is expected to benefit Sri Lanka in the upcoming series. He will begin working with the Sri Lankan team on August 16 and will stay with them until the end of the three-Test series.
The first Test of the series will start in Manchester on August 21. Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed Ian Bell as the national team's batting coach for the upcoming Test series against England. Bell's inclusion will provide valuable insights into English pitches and conditions, which will aid Sri Lanka's preparation.
Regarding Ian Bell's appointment, Sri Lanka Cricket's CEO Ashley de Silva said, "We have appointed Ian to help our players with his knowledge of local conditions. He has extensive experience playing in England. We believe his input will support our team on this important tour."
Following the first Test on August 21, the second Test will begin at Lord's on August 29. The series will conclude with the third Test at The Oval on September 6. This series is part of the Test Championship. Bell will work with the Sri Lankan squad throughout the entire series.
