Following Bangladesh’s disappointing series loss to the UAE, the team now faces a new challenge as they prepare to take on Pakistan in a three-match T20I series starting tomorrow. Ahead of the clash, Bangladesh captain Litton Das addressed the media, saying,

“The last series didn’t go the way we wanted. It didn’t match our expectations. But this is a new series, a new challenge. We’ll try to do better this time. Let’s see how things go.”

Litton recalled Bangladesh’s recent success in Pakistan, drawing on confidence from a Test series whitewash win a few months ago:

“It’s a different format, of course. But we believe we can beat any team in the world. We’re not overly focused on the opponent—we’re focusing on our own improvement.”

When asked about the challenge posed by Pakistan, Litton responded simply,

“If we play well, we can beat anyone.”
He added,
“They have a great bowling attack. We haven’t done well in T20s in recent years, so we need consistency more than anything.”

The absence of key pacer Mustafizur Rahman could be felt, but Litton expressed confidence in the squad:

“Fizz is an important bowler for us, but we have a good balance in the team. The players who are here are capable.”
Addressing the lack of senior pacers, he said,
“Without Taskin and Fizz, it’s a big opportunity for others to step up and prove themselves.”

Regarding the criticism after the UAE series loss, Litton remained composed:

“Criticism is normal. Everyone tries to perform well. Our goal is to not repeat the same mistakes.”

Speaking about his role as a batter, Litton concluded,

“My batting role is very important. I want to stay consistent.”
