Rangpur Division Claims 4th Consecutive Win in NCL T20, Top the Points Table

Rangpur Division extended their winning streak to four matches in the NCL T20, defeating Rajshahi by 7 wickets to claim the top spot on the points table. Chasing a target of 190, Rangpur comfortably crossed the line with 2 overs to spare, thanks to an impressive 68-run innings from captain Akbar Ali, who was also named the Player of the Match.

The chase was built around a solid 103-run partnership between Akbar Ali and Tanveer Hayder. After losing early wickets, including the dismissal of Forhad Reza (25 off 20 balls), Akbar and Tanveer's partnership steadied the ship. Akbar's explosive batting, scoring 68 runs off just 29 balls with 6 sixes and 4 boundaries, was the highlight of the chase. In the 18th over, Akbar sealed the victory by hitting a six off Taijul, ensuring Rangpur's 7-wicket win.

Earlier, Rajshahi posted a challenging total of 189, largely thanks to Sabbir Hossain's determined 73-run innings. Despite a solid start by Habibur Rahman Sohan, Rajshahi's top-order struggled, with star batter Nazmul Hossain Shanto scoring just 6 runs off 9 balls. However, Sabbir's efforts pushed Rajshahi to a competitive total.

In the chase, Rangpur lost early wickets, but Akbar and Tanveer's 103-run stand provided the necessary momentum. Akbar's fast-paced innings saw him reach 50 off just 19 balls, and despite Tanveer's departure for 71 (off 45 balls), Akbar led the team to victory.

With this 7-wicket win, Rangpur Division has moved to the top of the NCL T20 points table, overtaking Dhaka Metro, and their strong all-round performance has placed them in a commanding position in the tournament.
