Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced an 18-member strong squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, featuring six uncapped players awaiting their Test debut.
Dhananjaya de Silva will continue to lead the side in the Bangladesh series. All-rounder Angelo Mathews is set to retire from Test cricket after the first match of the series. The six new faces in the squad are Lahiru Udara, Pasindu Suriyabandara, Sunal Dinusha, Pawan Rathnayake, Tharindu Rathnayake, and Isitha Wijesundara.

Despite the changes, the team management has retained a solid core of experienced batters. Pathum Nissanka will open the innings, while the middle order will rely on seasoned players like Dinesh Chandimal, Kusal Mendis, Kamindu Mendis, Angelo Mathews, and Dhananjaya de Silva.
