Nepal Announced T20 World Cup Squad
Nepal has announced its squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has finalized 15 players for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies and the United States of America.
Under the leadership of Rohit Paudel, the young Nepali team will kickstart their World Cup campaign on June 4 against their opponent, the Netherlands, in Texas.
There weren't any major surprises in the selection of the Nepali team. Players who performed well in the ACC Premier Cup and against the West Indies A team have earned their spots.
Rohit Paudel will lead the team from the front with players like Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Bhurtel, and Asif Sheikh by his side.
Nepal participated in the T20 World Cup for the first time in 2014. Somapal Kami, who was part of that team, is also included this time. He will be accompanied by experienced campaigner Karan KC. Lalit Rajbanshi will lead Nepal's spin attack as a left-arm orthodox spinner.
Nepal's T20 World Cup Squad:
Rohit Paudel (c), Aasif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Sah, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Lalit Rajbanshi, Karan KC, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Pratis GC, Sundeep Jora, Abinash Bohara, Sagar Dhakal, Kamal Singh Airee
Note that each team can make changes to their World Cup squad until May 25, although it requires approval from the ICC's event technical committee.
