Bishnoo Vinod of Mumbai Indians has been sidelined due to an injury since the ongoing season. With a hand injury, he is unable to participate in the IPL matches. Mumbai has roped in Harvik Desai, the wicketkeeper-batsman from Saurashtra, as a replacement for Bishnoo.
Desai has performed exceptionally well in domestic cricket, notably representing the Indian Under-19 team in the 2018 Youth World Cup alongside Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw, Riyan Parag, Arshdeep Singh, and Abhishek Sharma.
According to a statement from Mumbai, "Bishnoo Vinod has injured his left hand and will be out for the entire season. Mumbai Indians wish him a speedy recovery."
Last year, Bishnoo Vinod played three matches for Mumbai, scoring 37 runs, with his highest being 30 runs. Previously, he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2017 to 2018.
On the other hand, Desai has been a consistent performer for Saurashtra across formats. At the age of 24, he has shown promise in all versions of cricket, and if the opportunity arises, he will strive to perform well in the IPL. This is his first call-up to play in the Indian Premier League, unlike his debut in the inaugural Indian Premier League.
