The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule for a three-match Twenty20 series against Ireland. The matches will be held on May 10, 12, and 14 at the Castle Avenue in Dublin. Before flying to Ireland, the Pakistan team will host New Zealand for five T20 matches in April. The series will begin on April 18, with the final match of the series scheduled for April 27. Prior to that, Pakistan will play against England starting from May 22.
Earlier, in January, New Zealand toured Pakistan, where the two teams participated in a five-match T20 series. This upcoming series against Ireland will provide Pakistan with additional opportunities to play international matches ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan's last series against Ireland was supposed to take place in 2020, featuring two T20 matches in Dublin. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the series was postponed upon the request of the PCB. Discussions are ongoing regarding the rescheduling of this series.
Furthermore, Pakistan was also set to play a three-match T20 series against the Netherlands. Although the series was initially planned for May of this year, it was postponed last November at the request of the PCB to manage the workload of the players. Discussions are underway regarding the resumption of this series.
