Mitchell Marsh out of action for at least one week

The news of Australian cricket star Mitchell Marsh wasn't pleasing for Delhi Capitals. He was sidelined from the top eleven due to a hamstring injury. Delhi's assistant coach Pravin Amre has informed that Marsh will miss at least one week of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) due to his injury.

Injuries to Mitchell Marsh have always been a cause for concern. Despite playing in eight IPL seasons, he has only featured in 42 matches. In the 2022 IPL season, he played only eight matches for Delhi. During the first match representing Sunrisers Hyderabad, he was forced out of the tournament due to a groin injury. He had withdrawn himself from the 2021 IPL due to bubble fatigue.

Pravin Amre provided an update on Marsh's current injury. He said, "We have several cricketers injured. We are concerned about Mitchell Marsh. He went for a scan, and physio will give us a report within a week. Then we will know the actual situation. Whether he can play the entire tournament will depend on the report."

Delhi Capitals are currently positioned at the bottom of the points table with just one win in five matches. Marsh's absence, along with injuries to other players, has contributed to the team's poor performance. Like Mitchell Marsh, even Kuldeep Yadav is unable to play due to injury.

It's worth mentioning that Mitchell Marsh has scored 665 runs in 42 matches in the IPL with a strike rate of 127.64. He has also taken 37 wickets at an economy rate of 8.52.
