Bangladesh Cricketers Rishad and Nahid Stranded in Pakistan Amid PSL Chaos, BCB Ensures Constant Contact

Two Bangladeshi national team players, Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana, currently in Pakistan for the Pakistan Super League (PSL), find themselves in a distressing situation following a drone attack near Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This marks their first experience playing in a foreign league.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) issued a statement confirming it is maintaining constant communication with both players. The board also stated it is in regular contact with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad to ensure the players' safety and well-being.

"Player safety is our utmost priority," the BCB reiterated in its statement.

Rishad and Nahid Rana are representing Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi respectively. Given the deteriorating security conditions in Pakistan, the BCB is working closely with both the PCB and the Bangladeshi diplomatic mission to ensure that the players feel safe during their stay.

Efforts are already underway to coordinate with relevant authorities for the safe and timely return of the players to Bangladesh if necessary.

The situation escalated when a drone attack was reported on Thursday morning near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, just hours ahead of a scheduled PSL match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. The match, set for 9 PM local time, was canceled after part of the stadium was reportedly damaged by the explosion.

The PCB has since announced that all remaining PSL matches will be relocated to Karachi due to security concerns. Images of the damaged sections of Rawalpindi Stadium have circulated widely on social media, adding to the concern.
