Abahani to Take the Field with a Strong Squad in the DPL

Dhaka’s domestic cricket is once again coming alive with the return of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL). After a period of uncertainty and administrative complications, the 2025–26 season is now set to get underway in the first week of next month.

One of the country’s most prestigious List ‘A’ competitions will go ahead as scheduled. The players’ draft and transfer activities will be held on Saturday and Sunday at the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) office inside the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, running from 11 AM to 5 PM.

A total of 12 teams will participate in this year’s tournament. Alongside traditional clubs, several new and competitive sides are also taking part, making the league even more competitive and exciting.

Defending champions Abahani Limited are once again preparing with the aim of retaining their title. The team will be coached by Hannan Sarkar and features a strong blend of national and experienced cricketers.
