In the second Test in Bulawayo, Afghanistan defeated Zimbabwe by 72 runs. On the final day, Zimbabwe required 73 runs to win, while Afghanistan needed just 2 wickets. The Afghan bowlers took only 15 balls to dismiss two Zimbabwean batters. Zimbabwe, meanwhile, failed to add any runs to their previous total, finishing all out for 205, the same score they had at the end of the fourth day.
In Afghanistan's first innings, they were all out for 157 runs, losing all 10 wickets. The highest score for Afghanistan was 25, made by Rashid Khan. Other key contributions came from Rahmat Shah (19), Abdul Malik and Farid Ahmad (17 each), and Afsar Zazai (16). Zimbabwe’s Newman Nyamurenge and Sikandar Raza both took 3 wickets each.
In reply, Zimbabwe managed to score 243 in their first innings. Captain Craig Ervine made the highest score for his team with 75 runs, while Sikandar Raza contributed 61 runs. Sean Williams narrowly missed a half-century, falling for 49 runs. Rashid Khan took 4 wickets for Afghanistan, and Yamin Ahmadzai took 3 wickets.
Afghanistan started their second innings 86 runs behind Zimbabwe, but Rahmat Shah's 139 runs and Ismat Alam's 101 runs helped them reach a total of 363. Zimbabwe's Blessing Muzarabani was the standout bowler, claiming 6 wickets.
Chasing 277 runs in the second innings, Zimbabwe was bowled out for just 205. The highest score for Zimbabwe came from captain Craig Ervine, who made 53 runs. Sikandar Raza and Ben Curran both scored 38 runs each. Rashid Khan was the hero with the ball, taking 7 wickets in Zimbabwe's second innings. With a total of 11 wickets across both innings, Rashid Khan was named the Player of the Match.
