During today’s ongoing session of the National Parliament, State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque directly questioned various activities of the cricket board and expressed dissatisfaction over its past decisions and management.

Since the formation of the new government, discussions and criticisms have intensified around the country’s cricket administration, placing the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) at the center of debates over accountability.

Raising allegations regarding the use of board resources during past election processes, he said, “The financial and human resources of the Bangladesh Cricket Board were used in the past to assist a group in depriving voting rights. After taking charge, action will be taken through investigation against those involved in such কর্মকাণ্ড, Insha’Allah.”

He also brought up allegations of corruption within the board, emphasizing the need for thorough investigation and seeking cooperation from the relevant authorities.

He said, “The issue of reviewing the personal assets of corrupt কর্মকর্তারা and employees has come to the forefront. We will request the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Commission to inform us of any ongoing investigations and present them before the nation.”

The state minister also criticized the overall condition of the sports sector during the previous government, pointing to prolonged political influence as a cause of stagnation.

In this regard, he said, “Since 2008, politicization and partisan control have brought stagnation to the sports sector. We are working to free it from this state of ruin.”

He further added, “Those who secured illegal appointments through political influence will be identified through a swift investigation committee, and those involved will be exposed before the nation, Insha’Allah.”
