Bangladesh U-19 Team Defeats India by 27 Runs in Preparation Match for Asia Cup
Bangladesh's U-19 cricket team has registered a thrilling 27-run victory over India in their only preparation match before the start of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup. Batting first, Bangladesh posted a total of 217 runs, and the team secured the win thanks to a superb all-round performance by captain Azizul Hakim Tamim.
The match took place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, where Bangladesh's U-19 team showed their mettle against a strong Indian side. Captain Tamim led from the front, playing an outstanding innings of 75 runs. After contributing with the bat, Tamim turned up with the ball as well, claiming four wickets for just 15 runs, playing a crucial role in restricting India's chase.
Tamim’s all-round performance was pivotal in Bangladesh's victory over India, giving the junior Tigers excellent preparation ahead of the upcoming ACC U-19 Asia Cup. Batting first, Bangladesh posted a total of 217 runs in 50 overs, losing 7 wickets. Apart from Tamim’s 75, the second-highest contribution came from Debashish Sarkar, who scored 40 runs.
In reply, India struggled against Bangladesh’s bowlers. Tamim’s incredible bowling performance was the highlight, as he took 4 wickets for just 15 runs. India’s innings ended at 190 runs in 39.5 overs. Siddharth, who remained unbeaten on 56, was the top scorer for India, but his efforts weren’t enough to prevent the defeat. Rafiqul Zaman Rafi also made a significant contribution, taking 2 wickets.
With this win, Bangladesh U-19 team has shown solid form ahead of the Asia Cup, demonstrating both batting and bowling strength in a competitive match.
