BCB Expresses Deep Concern Over Alleged Harassment of Nayeem Hasan, Calls for Investigation
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed deep concern over allegations that Bangladesh national team spinner Nayeem Hasan was harassed and abused by members of a law enforcement agency in Chattogram.
In a media release issued on Saturday (June 13), the BCB strongly condemned the incident, stating that such unacceptable and inappropriate treatment of a national cricketer is deeply regrettable and that the matter is being viewed with the utmost seriousness.
The Board said it expects a thorough, impartial and comprehensive investigation into the incident. It also urged the relevant authorities to take appropriate action against those found responsible.
The statement further said that since learning of the incident, the BCB has been maintaining regular contact with Nayeem Hasan and his family and is making every effort to ensure they receive all necessary support.
The Board also noted that it has been actively communicating with the relevant authorities and administration in Chattogram to help facilitate a proper resolution of the matter.
Reiterating its commitment to protecting the welfare, dignity and rights of all its players, the BCB said it will continue to closely monitor developments surrounding the incident.
