Hardik Pandya Fined for Breaching Code of Conduct
Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been sanctioned for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. During the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, he committed a Level 1 offence, resulting in a fine of 10 percent of his match fee. In addition, one demerit point has been added to his disciplinary record.
Hardik was found guilty of violating Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which relates to the abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, fixtures, and fittings during a match.
The incident took place on the fourth ball of the 10th over in the second innings. While walking back to his run-up, Hardik forcefully struck the wicket and dislodged the bails.
Later, he admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by match referee Rajiv Seth.
