Mushtaq Ahmed Bats in Chattogram, Bowled Out by Taijul
Mushtaq Ahmed is actively involved in various activities in Bangladesh. After the first Test in Mirpur, instead of traveling with the team to Chattogram, Mushtaq went to BKSP to conduct a special class for leg-spinner Rishad Hossain. With the second Test starting tomorrow, Mushtaq was present at Sagarika yesterday, engaging in final-day practice with Taijul, Naim, and Hasan.
However, Mushtaq's story doesn’t end there. After last playing a competitive match back in 2008, the former Pakistani star took to the field at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, donning gloves and pads and wielding a bat. He faced the spin bowling of Taijul Islam and Naim Hasan, showcasing his skills.
Mushtaq played several boundary shots and also took singles around the wicket. He was in great form until he faced a significant challenge from Taijul Islam, who bowled him out, sparking celebration among Naim and Hasan Murad.
Although Mushtaq was absent during the series against India, he has returned to the squad ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa. After the series, he will return to Pakistan.
In the future, if available, he will continue to work with the Tiger spinners according to the series schedule. Additionally, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has previously mentioned its intention to sign a long-term contract with Mushfiqur by the end of this year.
