Rishad Hossain Flying High in PSL, Claims Fazal Mahmood Cap as Top Wicket-Taker
Bangladesh’s rising leg-spin star Rishad Hossain continues his dream run in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). After a brilliant 3-wicket debut, he followed up with another 3-wicket haul in his second match, earning the prestigious Fazal Mahmood Cap, awarded to the tournament’s leading wicket-taker.
Playing for Lahore Qalandars, Rishad picked up 3 wickets in each of his first two games. In last night’s match against Karachi Kings, he was again the most effective bowler for Lahore, finishing with 3 wickets for just 26 runs in 4 overs, helping his team to a comprehensive 65-run win.
With 6 wickets in 2 matches, Rishad currently shares the top spot on the PSL 2025 wicket-takers list with Quetta Gladiators’ leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed. However, Rishad leads the chart due to a better economy rate and bowling average, placing him ahead in the official rankings.
The maroon Fazal Mahmood Cap, symbolizing the top bowler in the PSL, now proudly sits on Rishad’s head—making him not just a fan favorite but also one of the breakout stars of the tournament.
