Former national team captain Shakib Al Hasan explained his position through a Facebook post
In a recent interview with a national daily, former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan spoke openly about his current stance. He said that for now, he is fully focused on cricket as political activities are on hold. However, he also mentioned that there will be an opportunity to return to politics once party activities resume.
His remarks have already sparked widespread discussion across different circles, with many analyzing the issue from various perspectives, bringing him back into the spotlight. To clarify the matter further, Shakib has now shared a post on his official Facebook page. The post is তুলে ধরা হলো in full below:
“Assalamu Alaikum everyone,
Recently, a statement of mine in the media has created quite a discussion. I would like to clearly explain my position to everyone. At this moment, my full focus is solely on cricket. At this final stage of my career, I want to give my absolute best for the Bangladesh national team and, if given the opportunity, deliver some memorable performances for my country.
Politics is extremely important for the development of a nation. After concluding my cricket career, I would like to contribute to my country’s progress. However, that does not necessarily have to be only through politics. It is possible to serve the country in other ways as well. Still, it is true that working through politics can make many things easier.
I hope I can end my cricket career with a smile on my face while wearing the red and green jersey. For that, I seek the prayers and love of all the people of Bangladesh.”
