Sri Lanka Suspends Pakistan Tour Indefinitely
Sri Lanka 'A' cricket team has indefinitely suspended the remainder of their tour to Pakistan. The decision was taken by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) due to massive protests in Islamabad led by supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the political party headed by former Pakistan captain and Prime Minister Imran Khan. The remaining two ODIs of the tour were scheduled to be held at the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium.
In a statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said, "In consultation with Sri Lanka Cricket, the Pakistan Shaheens-Sri Lanka 'A' series has been postponed due to the prevailing political activities."
The statement further added, "The final two matches, scheduled for Wednesday and Friday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, have been postponed. Both boards will discuss and finalize new dates to complete the series."
Pakistan is currently leading the ODI series against Sri Lanka 'A' after a dominant performance in the first match, which they won by 108 runs. Earlier, Pakistan Shaheens also won the first-class series 1-0 in the preceding two matches.
