Tamim Iqbal Recovering, Set to Travel to Singapore for Advanced Treatment
Bangladesh’s veteran cricketer and former national team captain Tamim Iqbal is on the road to recovery after suffering a heart-related health scare during a match at BKSP. Though he is currently in stable condition, he is set to fly to Singapore on Monday (April 7) for advanced medical consultation.
Tamim’s health has significantly improved, but doctors have recommended further evaluation abroad to ensure a thorough check-up and recovery plan.
“He is doing much better now. However, to ensure everything is fine and for advanced treatment, Tamim will be going to Singapore,” a source close to the cricketer stated.
Earlier, on March 24, Tamim fell ill while playing for Mohammedan SC against Shinepukur Cricket Club. Initially, he was taken to KPJ Hospital where doctors performed an ECG. Though plans were made to transfer him to Dhaka via helicopter, his condition required immediate care, and he remained in KPJ. He was later fitted with a heart stent (ring).
Doctors had advised 48 to 72 hours of observation, and after a brief stay at KPJ, Tamim was moved to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka before being discharged to continue his recovery at home.
Physicians have also indicated that Tamim may require at least three months of rest and must follow specific lifestyle guidelines before returning to normal activity.
