"This is an exile experience."
"This is an exile experience."
After a two-month break, Virat Kohli has returned. He spent this time with his family. A new child has been born into the family. Kohli had a joyful and fulfilling time with his family. He shared this during a press conference yesterday (Monday) after the match with Punjab Kings.
Yesterday, Kohli took charge in the opening innings against Punjab, making the path to victory easier for the team. He showed courage in his innings of 77 runs off 49 balls for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. On such a day of excellent innings, Kohli's swing collected the Man of the Match award. It was a very joyful occasion for him.
Kohli did not play the Test series against England on home soil. He spent the time with his family. He described some of this experience yesterday. Not only did he describe it, but it seemed like he enjoyed that time as if it were a storybook experience.
Kohli said, "We weren't at home. We were in a place where people couldn't recognize us. It was just two normal months spent together as a family. For me, and for our family, this is an exile experience. I cannot be more grateful to the creator that I am spending time with my family."
Spending time alone with the family, Kohli is now back on the cricket field. He mentioned how much he enjoyed those times. He hadn't experienced this for a long time, where his name wasn't being called. Where he was silent and hidden. Now that he's back on the field, those sounds and cheers have returned. This cricketer has taken everything with joy.
Kohli said, "But it was beautiful. It was an astonishing experience, being on the streets and being someone else and nobody recognizing you. Living a life like that, which people usually do every day."
