In a swift move following the dismissal of Chandika Hathurusingha, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed a new head coach. Hathurusingha was sacked due to allegations of misconduct and violating conduct codes with national team players. At a press conference today, when asked about the unfortunate incident and the team's stance should something similar occur again, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto responded cautiously.
Regarding his position on the physical altercation incident, Shanto stated, "I honestly don’t know about this. To be truthful, I have no information on it." He also expressed confidence that such incidents would not happen again.
As for the upcoming series against South Africa under the new head coach, Shanto indicated that the players feel confident playing on home ground. He mentioned, "Our team knows how we want to play in this Test. Each player is aware of their role. I have shared my plans with the coach, and he agrees. Since we have played many matches on this field, we have good experience, and we will leverage that. I don't think there's a need to compare the previous coach with the current one, as the players are experienced in playing here."
