Shakib Al Hasan Sets Unwanted T20 Record for Bangladesh
Shakib Al Hasan added an unwanted record to his name after his recent batting performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He now holds the record for the most ducks (dismissals for zero runs) in T20 cricket among Bangladeshi players, surpassing Soumya Sarkar.
With Soumya previously holding the record with 31 ducks, Shakib has now overtaken him with 32 after being dismissed for zero in two consecutive PSL matches for Lahore Qalandars.
In a league stage match, Shakib was out for a golden duck (first-ball dismissal). In the Qualifier, coming in to bat at number eight, he faced two balls and was dismissed without scoring. As a result, his last two T20 innings now read: 0, 0.
Here’s the updated list of Bangladeshi players with the most ducks in T20 cricket:
-

🏏 Shakib Al Hasan – 32
 -

🏏 Soumya Sarkar – 31
 -

🏏 Imrul Kayes – 22
 -

🏏 Tamim Iqbal – 20
 -

🏏 Mushfiqur Rahim – 19

While Shakib remains one of Bangladesh’s greatest cricketers and a world-renowned all-rounder, this is a record he would no doubt rather avoid.
