Litton Das Returns to Bangladesh Squad for First Test Against Australia After Injury Recovery
Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Kumer Das has returned to the Bangladesh squad for the first Test against Australia after recovering from injury. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 16-member squad on Saturday for the opening Test of the two-match series, which will begin in Darwin on 13 August.
The 31-year-old had been sidelined since June with a left calf injury. However, after making encouraging progress in his rehabilitation, he has been included in the squad for the first Test. Litton will travel to Darwin on Sunday to join the team and will be considered for selection in the playing XI, subject to his fitness.
Najmul Hossain Shanto will captain the side, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been named vice-captain. The squad also includes Soumya Sarkar, Shadman Islam, Tanzid Hasan, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Amite Hasan, Jaker Ali Anik, Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury, Musfik Hasan, and Litton Kumer Das.
The first Test of the two-match series between Bangladesh and Australia is scheduled to begin on 13 August in Darwin.
