Bangladesh captain Litton Kumar Das has been ruled out of the first match of the three-match T20I series against Australia due to an injury to his left leg muscle.

Bangladesh National Team Physio Delowar Hossain Shiva said that a medical assessment revealed a Grade 1 strain in Litton’s left calf muscle. However, the injury is not considered serious, and his rehabilitation is progressing well.

Shiva said, “Following a medical assessment, the player has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain of the left calf muscle. The injury is considered minor, and he is progressing well in his recovery. He will be unavailable for the first match. However, depending on his response to treatment and rehabilitation, he may be fit for the subsequent matches. We will continue to monitor his progress closely.”

In Litton’s absence, Towhid Hridoy is leading Bangladesh in the first T20I.

The team management had already expressed uncertainty over Litton’s availability on the eve of the series opener.
