Pakistan have announced a 15-member T20 squad for the Asian Games, with Sahibzada Farhan appointed as captain.

 

The Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from 19 September to 4 October. A total of 10 teams will participate in the cricket tournament. The men’s cricket event will begin on 24 September, while the medal matches are scheduled for 3 October.

 

Sahibzada Farhan has been named captain of the side. The 30-year-old batter has played 46 T20 Internationals for Pakistan, scoring 1,305 runs, including two centuries and 10 half-centuries. Abdul Samad has been appointed vice-captain.

 

Four players in the squad are yet to make their T20 International debut: Akif Javed, Ali Raza, Maaz Sadaqat, and Saad Masood.

 

Fourteen members of the 15-man squad will also take part in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) white-ball camp, which is set to begin in Lahore on 15 June.

 

The team’s support staff includes head coach Mike Hesson, bowling coach Ashley Noffke, fielding coach Shane McDermott, physiotherapist Muhammad Tahir, trainer Imran Ullah, and team operations coordinator Usman Hashmi.
