2027 ODI World Cup, Bangladesh Drawn in Tough Group Alongside India and Pakistan

Bangladesh are set to face tough opponents in the upcoming 2027 ICC ODI World Cup. The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the tournament’s group composition last Thursday.

According to the announced format, Bangladesh have been placed in Group B alongside hosts South Africa, England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The sixth team in the group will be determined after the qualification process or the Super Series.

Meanwhile, Group A features arch-rivals India and Pakistan. They will be joined by defending champions Australia, Afghanistan and co-hosts Zimbabwe. The group’s sixth and final spot will be filled by another team that qualifies through the qualification process.

A total of 12 teams will participate in the group stage of the upcoming World Cup. The teams have been divided equally into two groups, with six teams in each group. South Africa and Zimbabwe have secured direct qualification for the main tournament as the host nations, while the other co-hosts, Namibia, will have to secure their place in the main event by going through the qualification process.
