Hendricks joins Karachi Kings, Charles ruled out for personal reasons
Karachi Kings have made a last-minute change to their squad ahead of the PSL, bringing in South African batter Reeza Hendricks as a replacement for West Indies opener Johnson Charles, who has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to personal reasons.
This will be Hendricks’ second stint in the PSL. He previously represented Multan Sultans in the 2024 season, where he scored 304 runs in eight innings at an average of 43.42 and a strike rate of 134.51. An experienced T20 campaigner, Hendricks has played 296 matches in the format, registering 64 fifties and five centuries.
With Hendricks’ inclusion, Karachi Kings have further strengthened their overseas contingent. The squad already features the likes of David Warner, Adam Zampa, Moeen Ali, and UAE’s Muhammad Waseem.
Karachi finished third last season, securing a playoff spot for the first time since 2021. This year, they will be aiming to build on that momentum and go even further.
Their PSL 2026 campaign begins on March 27 against Quetta Gladiators.
