Tanzid joins Peshawar Zalmi, becomes sixth Bangladeshi in PSL
Bangladesh’s emerging batting talent Tanzid Hasan Tamim has secured a spot in the squad of Peshawar Zalmi for the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League. The franchise has included him in their lineup through a direct signing, rewarding his recent aggressive performances.
This will mark his first appearance in the PSL. With this inclusion, he becomes the sixth Bangladeshi cricketer to feature in the tournament. Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi had picked pacer Nahid Rana in the draft, before adding Shoriful Islam through a direct contract.
Tanzid’s selection, however, did not come as a surprise. He impressed heavily in the recently concluded series against Pakistan, where his batting stood out. A century along with a half-century earned him the Player of the Series award, putting him firmly on the radar.
Among Bangladesh players, Mustafizur Rahman was the first to receive a direct contract in the PSL, having joined Lahore Qalandars. The same franchise also signed Parvez Hossain Emon through the draft. Meanwhile, leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has been picked by the new franchise Rawalpindi Pindis.
