Muzarabani Reaches Career-Best Test Ranking After Sylhet Heroics
Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani has been rewarded for his outstanding performance in the Sylhet Test with a career-high position in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings. With 705 rating points, the right-arm fast bowler has climbed to 15th place after claiming 9 wickets in the match. Muzarabani becomes only the second Zimbabwean bowler in history to surpass the 700-point mark in the ICC rankings.
After nearly two years out of the Test team, Wellington Masakadza made a successful return, taking five wickets and re-entering the rankings at 68th place.
For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the standout performer, taking 10 wickets in the match. His effort has propelled him four places up to 26th in the Test bowling rankings.
Bangladeshi batters also made gains. Mominul Haque, who scored 56 and 47 in the two innings, moved up five places to 48th. Zakir Hasan jumped 10 spots to 50th after his second-innings half-century. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto advanced to 53rd following his scores of 40 and 60.
In the overall rankings, England’s Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batter. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett has broken into the top 100 for the first time, rising to 90th after scoring fifties in both innings against Bangladesh.
