Bangladesh will take on Zimbabwe in the first T20 of the series today at 6 PM. Mohammad Saifuddin returns to the national team after 18 months and Tanjid Hasan Tamim makes his debut. Tamim received his T20 cap from Mahmudullah Riyad. Bangladesh's captain Najmul Hossain Shanto decided to bowl first after winning the toss.
Tanjid Hasan Tamim, a left-handed opener, will open the innings with Liton Das. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto will bat at number three, followed by Towhid Hridoy, Mahmudullah Riyad, and Jakir Ali Anik respectively.
In the absence of Shakib Al Hasan during the Chittagong leg, the spin attack will be handled by Sheikh Mehedi Hasan, accompanied by leg-spinner Rishad Hossain. Taskin Ahmed will lead the pace unit, with Shariful Islam and the all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin rounding out the bowling attack.
Tanjid Hasan Tamim is the only uncapped player in the squad against Zimbabwe. All-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin is considered for the national team after 18 months.
The first match of the series will commence today, May 3rd, at 6 PM at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Tanjim Hasan Sakib, Parvez Hossain Emon, Tanvir Islam, and Afif Hossain Dhruv, who are also part of the squad, will be watching the match from the dressing room.
