Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis scored fifty each in all three innings. On the previous day, Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis got out very close to a century. Finally, the Bangladeshi bowlers managed to dismiss the Sri Lankans after bowling 159 overs.
Starting their second innings on the second day of the second Test, Sri Lanka began their play. Sri Lanka concluded their second session at 476 runs for 7 wickets in 144 overs. By the end of their innings, Sri Lanka accumulated a total of 531 runs on the scoreboard.
The visitors dominated the game entirely on the first day. On the second day, they continued to dominate over the remaining batsmen. Right from the start of the day, Dinesh Chandimal and Dhananjaya de Silva showcased their brilliance.
Then Kamindu Mendis took charge alone. He was given excellent support by Prabath Jayasuriya and Vishwa Fernando. Until Asitha Fernando got out at the end, Kamindu missed out on his century. Sri Lanka scored 531 runs all out, with Kamindu remaining unbeaten on 92 runs.
