Brilliant Comeback by Junior Tigers in Sri Lanka
After a heavy 98-run defeat in the opening match, the Junior Tigers bounced back in style against Sri Lanka U-19. With Al Fahad’s stunning six-wicket haul followed by a commanding century from opener Jawad Abrar, Bangladesh secured a crushing 9-wicket victory — with 15.3 overs to spare. The six-match ODI series is now level at 1–1.
Batting first, Sri Lanka managed 211 runs, struggling against the sharp pace of Al Fahad, who dismantled their batting lineup with figures of 6 for 44 in 9.5 overs, including a maiden. Iqbal Hasan Imon also chipped in with two wickets. Only Chamika Hinatigala showed resistance for the hosts, scoring 51 runs off 91 balls with two boundaries.
In the chase, although Bangladesh lost Kalam Siddique early (5 runs), Jawad Abrar and captain Azizul Hakim Tamim took control. Jawad raced to his century in just 72 balls, smashing 12 fours and 5 sixes. Tamim provided strong support with a steady 69 off 89 balls. Together, they easily guided Bangladesh past the target, with Jawad remaining unbeaten on 130.
