PCB Holds High-Level Meeting on Upcoming Series and Domestic Cricket Plans
A crucial meeting was held on Monday at Gaddafi Stadium under the leadership of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, where preparations for upcoming international series and the Pakistan Shaheens’ schedule were reviewed in detail. During the session, the PCB chairman instructed relevant officials to initiate work on the new central contracts.
The meeting featured briefings on home series against South Africa and Sri Lanka, as well as away tours to the West Indies and Bangladesh.
One of the key decisions taken during the meeting was to mandate the participation of all national team players in at least one domestic tournament. Emphasizing the importance of this initiative, Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated:
"Playing alongside international stars will greatly benefit domestic players. A strong domestic structure is vital for producing high-quality cricketers and creating an effective backup for the national team."
The briefing on the upcoming series was provided by Usman Wahla, PCB's Director of International Cricket.
The meeting was also attended by:
Mike Hesson, Head Coach of the National Team
Sameer Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer
Naveed Akram Cheema, Team Manager
Aaqib Javed, Director of High Performance Center
Salman Agha, National Team Captain
The gathering reflects PCB’s continued efforts to streamline national team development and strengthen the domestic cricket framework.
