The rewards followed immediately after the Pakistan series, as a remarkable rise in the rankings has put Mehidy Hasan Miraz at the center of attention. His consistent performances at home have finally earned timely international recognition.
Throughout the three-match ODI series, captain Miraz stood out as one of Bangladesh’s most reliable performers. With controlled bowling, he picked up five wickets and played a crucial role in securing the series victory. His all-round brilliance proved to be a key factor behind Bangladesh’s 2-1 triumph.
This recent performance has been reflected in the latest ICC rankings. Miraz has moved up two spots in the ODI all-rounders’ rankings and now holds the second position. Additionally, he has climbed nine places in the bowlers’ rankings to reach seventh.
The update has also brought good news for several other Bangladeshi players. In the batters’ rankings, Tanzid Hasan made a significant jump of 31 places to reach 55th, while Liton Das moved up 10 spots to 82nd.
Among the bowlers, Taskin Ahmed has advanced 12 places to secure the 28th position. Mustafizur Rahman also improved by 13 spots, now ranked 47th. Meanwhile, Nahid Rana recorded the biggest leap, climbing 65 places to break into the top 100 for the first time, currently sitting at 98th.
