ACC Confirms Dates for Asia Cup 2025, Set to Be Held in UAE from September 9 to 28
The 2025 edition of the Asia Cup will take place from September 9 to 28, confirmed Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The detailed schedule will be announced soon, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi chosen as host venues for the prestigious tournament.
This year’s tournament will feature eight teams:
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, UAE, and Oman.
According to Naqvi, the Asia Cup 2025 will follow the T20 format, ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 preparations. Given the draw format, arch-rivals India and Pakistan are likely to be placed in the same group, setting the stage for at least two high-voltage clashes during the group stage and Super Six round.
If both teams reach the final, it could lead to a third showdown—a scenario that broadcasters would welcome, as it would significantly boost viewership and commercial value.
