Mustafizur Rahman to Make Big Bash League Debut
Bangladesh’s star left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman is set to feature in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) for the first time. The ‘Fizz’ will represent the Melbourne Renegades in the 16th edition of the tournament. To make the arrival of Mustafizur, who has claimed more than 400 wickets in international T20 cricket, a memorable occasion, the Melbourne Renegades have taken a special initiative.
To bring Melbourne’s Bangladeshi expatriate community together, the Renegades are organising a special ‘The Fizz Bay’ section for their matches at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on January 1 and 16. Special ticket discounts are also being offered to encourage a strong presence of Bangladeshi supporters in the stands. Fans can enjoy a 50 per cent discount on the first 200 family tickets by using the promotional code ‘FIZZBAY’.
Mustafizur is thrilled about making his BBL debut. He said playing at a historic venue like the MCG would be a special experience for him. After completing his commitments in the ILT20, the left-arm pacer is eager to join the Renegades squad and contribute to the team’s success.
Melbourne Renegades head coach Luke Ronchi is also confident in the experience and death-over bowling skills of the Bangladesh pace sensation. While the Renegades will be hoping to witness Mustafizur’s trademark cutters at the MCG, the occasion also presents a wonderful opportunity for Melbourne’s Bangladeshi expatriates to come together and cheer for their country in a sea of red and green.
