Bangladesh Announce Squad for Afghanistan Test, Nahid and Taskin Left Out

Bangladesh are set to make their first appearance in red-ball international cricket on United Arab Emirates soil. Ahead of the one-off Test against Afghanistan, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member final squad for the match.

The traditional red-ball battle is scheduled to begin on October 9, with Najmul Hossain Shanto leading the Tigers. Star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will serve as vice-captain and assist the skipper in implementing the team’s plans on the field.

In addition to the main 15-member squad, Naeem Hasan, Mushfiq Hasan and Iqbal Hossain Emon have been included in the reserve list as emergency or additional backup options. They will travel to the UAE with the main squad. The match will begin on October 9.

Najmul Hossain Shanto (Captain), Tanzid Hasan, Shadman Islam, Soumya Sarkar, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Kumer Das, Towhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Vice-Captain), Taijul Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury and Shoriful Islam.

Reserves:
