2025 ICC Champions Trophy Host: Pakistan
Pakistan will host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. According to the Press Trust of India (PTI), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) submitted a draft schedule to the ICC on July 3 for the tournament. It is yet to be confirmed if India will play in Pakistan, but the draft schedule features an India-Pakistan match on March 1.
The Champions Trophy will run from February 19 to March 9, with 15 matches taking place in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who was invited to Barbados to watch the T20 World Cup final, submitted the proposed schedule there.
Venues and Matches
Lahore: 7 matches, including India's group matches.
Karachi: 3 matches, including the opening match.
Rawalpindi: 5 matches.
The two semifinals will be held in Karachi and Rawalpindi, with the final in Lahore. If India reaches the semifinals, their match will be held in Lahore.
Group Stages
According to the proposed draft:
Group A: Host Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
Group B: Australia, England, Afghanistan, and South Africa.
BCCI’s Stand
While other cricket boards have expressed support for the PCB, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will make a decision after consulting with the Indian government.
