Bangladesh to Participate in Inaugural Wheelchair Cricket World Cup 2025 in Pakistan
The Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team is set to participate in the first-ever Wheelchair Cricket World Cup 2025, scheduled to be held in Pakistan from September 30 to October 9, as officially confirmed by team captain Mohammad Mohsin through a press release.
The tournament will take place across Lahore and Faisalabad, organized by the Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Council, a founding member of the International Wheelchair Cricket Council.
According to the press release:
“It is a matter of great pride for Bangladesh. We have received an official invitation from the Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Council to participate in the inaugural Wheelchair Cricket World Cup 2025.”
A total of eight nations will take part in the historic event — Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, England, Kenya, and the United Arab Emirates. Each participating nation is expected to send a 21-member delegation, including 15 players, 5 officials, and 1 umpire.
Despite this remarkable opportunity, the Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team currently lacks financial sponsorship. The team has appealed to the Government of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to extend their support in ensuring the team’s participation and representing the nation on the global stage.
