BCB Mourns the Passing of Khaleda Zia
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and former Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
In a condolence message issued on Tuesday (30 December), the BCB stated that Begum Khaleda Zia’s contributions to the progress of cricket in the country will be remembered with respect. During her tenure as Prime Minister, she extended significant support and patronage to the development of cricket in Bangladesh. Under her leadership, notable progress was made in cricket infrastructure, alongside the overall growth of the sport across the country.
The BCB further noted that Begum Khaleda Zia’s vision and encouragement played an important role in paving the way for many of the successes that Bangladesh cricket enjoys today. The Board remembers her blessings and goodwill for the game with deep gratitude.
In its message, the BCB expressed solidarity with the people of the country during this moment of grief, praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
