Dwayne Bravo Announces Retirement from CPL After 2024 Season
Dwayne Bravo, the 40-year-old star all-rounder, has announced that he will retire from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after the 2024 season. Bravo has been a key figure in the CPL, winning five titles over his career and hopes to conclude his time in the league with another championship with the Trinbago Knight Riders.
Bravo has been an integral part of the Trinbago Knight Riders' success over the years. Known as the highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket, Bravo has dominated the CPL with his exceptional bowling skills. As of now, he is the leading wicket-taker in CPL history, having taken 128 wickets in 103 matches.
In the current season, Bravo's team, the Trinbago Knight Riders, will face the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in their opening match. Prior to the game, Bravo shared his plans for the future of his T20 career.
After the 2021 T20 World Cup, Bravo retired from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023 and subsequently took on the role of a bowling coach with the Chennai Super Kings. With his CPL retirement on the horizon, Bravo aims to finish his CPL career with a fourth championship, adding to the five titles he has already won, including three with the Trinbago Knight Riders.
