ICC CEO Geoff Allardice Resigns After Four Years in Charge

In a sudden move, Geoff Allardice, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the International Cricket Council (ICC), has resigned from his position. The Australian former cricketer stepped down after serving four years in the role, with the ICC confirming his departure on Tuesday.

Allardice, who was appointed as the permanent CEO of the ICC in November 2021, had previously held an interim role for more than eight months before securing the position permanently.

During his tenure, Allardice garnered significant recognition for his administrative work, having been with the ICC since 2012. He spent nearly eight years as the ICC's General Manager and had also held a similar position at Cricket Australia before joining the ICC.

Expressing his thoughts on his resignation, Allardice said, "Serving as the CEO of the International Cricket Council has been a privilege, and I am incredibly proud of the achievements we have made during my tenure. I would like to thank the ICC Chairman, the Board, and the entire cricket community for their support and collaboration over the past 13 years. I believe now is the right time for me to step down and pursue new challenges."
