Litton Ruled Out of Tri-Nation Series Due to Injury, Mehidy Also Misses Opening Match

Bangladesh have suffered a major setback midway through the ongoing T20 tri-nation series in Abu Dhabi. Despite being in excellent form, Bangladesh captain Litton Das has been ruled out of the entire series due to a sudden lower back injury. Meanwhile, the team will also be without star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the opening match due to illness.

Confirming Litton’s injury, BCB physiotherapist Bayezidul Islam said, “Litton felt discomfort on the right side of his lower back the day before the match. Although he tried to play until the last moment, he failed to pass the required fitness test to take the field. As a result, the decision has been made to rule him out of the entire series to avoid taking any risks.”

In Litton’s absence, Nurul Hasan Sohan has taken over wicketkeeping duties, while Towhid Hridoy has been handed the responsibility of leading the Bangladesh team.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Soumya Sarkar has been included in the playing XI for the opening match against Zimbabwe due to Mehidy’s illness. Missing experienced players like Litton and Mehidy will pose a significant challenge for the Tigers in their opening fixture.
