Australia Champions secured a 37-run victory over Bangladesh Champions in the World Championship of Legends at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The Australians sealed the win on the back of explosive batting from David Warner and Callum Ferguson, followed by disciplined bowling.

After winning the toss, Australia Champions opted to bat first. Opener David Warner unleashed a barrage of boundaries from the very beginning. He smashed 66 runs off just 38 balls, including seven fours and four sixes. Callum Ferguson scored 63 off 36 balls, featuring seven fours and two sixes, while Ben Dunk added a quickfire 45 off 24 deliveries with two fours and four sixes. Their aggressive batting helped Australia cross the 200-run mark in style.

Among Bangladesh’s bowlers, pacer Abu Jayed Rahi claimed three wickets for 46 runs, while Ziaur Rahman took two wickets for 45 runs. Australia finished their allotted 20 overs at 203 for six.

Chasing a daunting target of 204, Bangladesh Champions suffered an early setback. Opener Imrul Kayes scored 41 off 30 balls, including three fours and three sixes, while Fazle Mahmud contributed 27 off 20 balls. However, the rest of Bangladesh’s top and middle order failed to build on their starts.

Mahmudullah Riyad, however, launched a one-man assault for his side. He remained unbeaten on a blistering 73 off just 35 balls, smashing eight towering sixes and two fours. Despite his valiant effort, Bangladesh failed to get the necessary support from the other batters and finished at 166 for six after 20 overs.

For Australia, Darcy Short conceded just 19 runs in his four overs and picked up one wicket, while Ben Hilfenhaus took one wicket for 24 runs. Fawad Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers, claiming two wickets for 31 runs.
