Mustafizur Rahman Set to Make ILT20 Debut for Dubai Capitals
Bangladesh pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman could be seen for the first time in the UAE’s franchise league, the International League T20 (ILT20). The left-arm seamer has applied to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play for Dubai Capitals.
Mustafizur, who has represented Delhi Capitals in the IPL, is set to join their sister franchise in the ILT20. While he has already featured in the IPL, PSL, and Lanka Premier League, this will mark his maiden appearance in the UAE competition.
The players’ draft for the 2025 ILT20 is scheduled for September 30, but Mustafizur has already secured a team. His NOC request is currently under review by the BCB.
The 2025 ILT20 season will begin on December 2, with the final set for January 4 next year. The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is expected to be held around the same time, but if the BPL is rescheduled, Mustafizur’s NOC approval is likely to be straightforward.
In T20 cricket so far, Mustafizur has played 289 matches, claiming 362 wickets at an economy rate of 7.45. He has taken five wickets in an innings on four occasions.
