New controversy surrounding Shane Warnes death even after four years

Even four years on, discussions surrounding the sudden death of Australian legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne have not subsided. He passed away in Thailand in 2022 at the age of 52 due to a heart attack, a ঘটনা that stunned the cricketing world.

Recently, in an interview on the ‘2 Worlds Collide’ podcast, his son Jackson Warne has reignited the debate. He claimed that the COVID-19 vaccine may have been involved in his father’s death in some way, although he also acknowledged that Warne had some underlying health issues.

Jackson said, “I definitely think that the COVID vaccine played a role in this. I don’t think saying that is very controversial anymore. Even if dad had underlying health issues, I think this brought them right to the surface.”

He also shared his reaction upon hearing the news of his father’s death. “As soon as I hung up the phone, I immediately blamed the government, COVID, and the vaccine,” he said.

He further revealed that he had considered expressing these views publicly during the memorial service but ultimately chose not to. “It was probably better that I didn’t say it, otherwise I would be in a very different position,” he added.

Jackson also claimed that Warne had taken multiple doses of the vaccine, despite being reluctant. “He had to take the vaccine for work, like everyone else,” he said.

However, Jackson mentioned that he now tries to control such thoughts. “I try not to think about it too much, because it only turns into anger, and that’s not good for anyone,” he said.

Speaking about his father’s lifestyle, Jackson said, “Dad was in a good place at the time, both physically and mentally. Yes, he smoked and drank, but many people in their 80s and 90s still do the same.”

It is worth noting that Shane Warne had tested positive for COVID-19 in 2021 while working in England’s ‘The Hundred’ tournament. However, there was no publicly known serious illness before his death, which made his passing even more shocking.
