New Zealand Squad Changes Ahead of Bangladesh Tour
Changes have been made to the New Zealand squad for their upcoming tour of Bangladesh. Due to injury, Kristian Clarke has been ruled out of the squad. He has been replaced by left-arm pacer Ben Lister.
The Auckland Aces fast bowler earns a recall to the New Zealand national side after more than two years. He is currently part of the New Zealand A squad touring Sri Lanka and will join the national team in Bangladesh on Sunday.
According to New Zealand Cricket, Kristian Clarke sustained a cut to the webbing of his right hand while fielding in a match against Sri Lanka A, which forced his withdrawal from the entire tour.
Meanwhile, pacer Ben Sears will not be available for the ODI series in Bangladesh as he has signed a late deal to play in the Pakistan Super League for the Rawalpindi franchise. However, he is expected to join the squad ahead of the T20 series.
The New Zealand team will depart for Bangladesh on Monday morning. The three-match ODI series will begin in Mirpur on Friday, followed by the T20 series starting on April 30 in Chattogram.
Despite injury setbacks and franchise commitments, New Zealand will tour Bangladesh with a strong squad.
