Pakistan arrive in Dhaka early, to start training tomorrow
Pakistan’s national cricket team has arrived in Dhaka for the three-match ODI series, putting an end to the uncertainties surrounding the tour. The team landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 4:30 am on Sunday.
Young pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead Pakistan on this tour. Under his captaincy, a relatively young squad has travelled to Bangladesh to play the three-match ODI series.
The Pakistan team will take rest on the first day of the tour. They are expected to begin their official training sessions from tomorrow.
According to the schedule, the three matches of the series will be played on March 11, 13 and 15. The contest between Bangladesh and Pakistan has already generated significant interest among cricket fans.
Earlier on Saturday (March 7), Pakistan’s head coach Mike Hesson along with five members of the coaching staff arrived in Dhaka. They came to Bangladesh ahead of the team to oversee preparations and other formal arrangements for the series.
Initially, Pakistan were scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on March 9. However, the ongoing tensions in the Middle East created some uncertainty regarding the tour.
The international situation also raised the possibility of changes to the series schedule at one point.
Eventually, all concerns were resolved and the decision was made to hold the series as originally planned. Considering the situation, the Pakistan team arrived in Dhaka a day earlier than scheduled.
